rain, salmon, public library... sarah+gene's wedding was the quintessential seattle affair. their elegant wedding took place at the cute boutique hotel, hotel deca and coordinated by wedding superwoman, our buddy amy pak. even though we are in seattle, we actually don't get to shoot weddings in the rain very often, so it ended up being a really nice change of pace! plus i finally got to utilize my new rainbow umbrella. can you tell that my rainbow obsession from last year is still going strong? hehe... rainbow is the new black!

when the music started, sarah+gene and their guests brought down the house. i think it's only appropriate that we showcase these images in animated gif!

sarah+gene, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful day with us! sarah, you looked so freaking amazing at your wedding that you have inspired both me and david to get in shape!!

originally thought i'd take a quick glance over april + chris' engagement shoot, then ended up spending 2 hours playing with this image in photoshop... oops. i was super excited when i saw this image because as cliche as this is, i've always wanted to shoot some romantic photos with the carousel. luckily the result is just as cute as i pictured it to be. more to come...

autumn in seattle is seriously breathtaking.

late last fall, hannah + nate took us wandering around downtown for their engagement session, where nate proposed. since we had plenty of time left over, i was able to convince them to change up location to where they first met, northshore junior high. i always recommend couples to pick locations that are sentimental to their relationship. at first they were relectant, since it's hard to think of your old junior high school as "romantic" or "pretty." however, as i predicted, we ended up getting some of my favorite images of the day at the school. sure, the building itself wasn't all that interesting, but the vibrant and rich colors from the autumn leaves that were all over the campus ended up adding that romantic atmosphere to the images. it just goes to show that you don't need the typical prettiness to make a pretty photo.

over the weekend, we started cleaning and reorganizing our drives and came upon michelle + jeff's wedding at newcastle golf club from last year. it was such a fun wedding! definitely one of the most party-hardy wedding from last year. of course, as usual, i'm just too busy to make a big post out of it, so here are a couple of images.

i'll probably post more images from this wedding later. i'm horrible! i know!
